Itinerary

Day 1
11:00 am pick up from the office or hotel/hostel and visit:
– Cementerio De Trenes (Train Graveyard)
– Colcahni Town (souvenirs and salt museum)
– Salt Mounds (dry season only)
– Dakar Monument
– Flags Plaza (bring your flag)
1:00 pm Lunch
– Isla Incahuasi (Giant Cacti & 360 viewer)
– Perspective Photography
06:00 pm Sunset
08:00 pm Approximate arrival at Salt Hotel PALACIO DE SAL or LUNA SALADA.
(NOTE: These hotels get booked fast; it is recommended that you book at least 3-4 months ahead)

Day 2 >>> Option 1
08:00 am After breakfast, we depart towards Coquesa, where we will ascend Volcan Tunupa. Starting at 3,650 meters above sea level, we ascend by car to 4,900 masl, where we will visit Chullpares de Coquesa (Mummies from the Chipaya Culture). After the visit, we trek to the second viewpoint located at 5,600 masl, where you will appreciate the various colors of Volcan Tunupa.
After the visit, we descend to Coquesa to have lunch before departing back to Uyuni. (Box lunch may be provided during the tour, depending on time and location)
05:00 pm Approximate arrival at Uyuni.

Day 2 >>> Option 2
07:00 am After breakfast, we depart towards the southwest region of Bolivia and visit the altiplanic lagoons. Here we will see different types of fauna, flora, and surreal landscapes. We visit:
– ViIla Alota Bofedales (wet lands & llamas)
– Laguna Turquiri (black lagoon)
– Volcan Ollague Viewer (active volcano between Bolivia and Chile)
– Laguna Canapa (flamingos)
– Laguna Hedionda
– San Cristobal (Stone Church)
06:00 pm Approximate arrival at Uyuni.

Rainy Season?  The rainy season in this region is between January and March. Due to the water levels within the salt desert, it is possible for some of the locations not to be accessible, such as Isla Incahuasi and Volcan Tunupa. We will propose a different tour program if we encounter any difficulties. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this program or traveling during the rainy season. We will guide you the rest of the way 🙂
