Itinerary

3:00 pm pick up from our office in San Pedro of Atacama and depart 15km west towards the salt andean mountain range. We begin our journey with the blessing of the Tres Marias of quartz and granite that guard the entrance to the valley. Our next stop on this lunar landscape are the salt caves with their ocher rock walls and unpredictable nature trails. These are the result of a sequence of transformations on the Earth’s crust caused by the folding of the watery ground underneath the salt lake. Because of its lack of humidity, there is no life here, which has turned it into one of the most inhospitable places on earth.
6:00 pm Sunset at La Piedra del Coyote or Mirador del Cari.
8:00 pm approximate arrival to San Pedro of Atacama.
